Tier List: Platinums 1-10

Since people are ranking their platinums after every ten, I decided to do the same with a tier list.

  1. A Short Hike - B tier. Not a bad game for its length but there are a couple of tricky trophies.
  2. Buff Knight Advanced - B tier. Not really for everyone but a great way to AFK grind for a platinum if you have a turbo controller. Just make sure to turn it off so you can die 100 times. ;)
  3. Celeste - C tier. I only put it so low due to the fact that I had to use Assist Mode. After PICO-8, I'm not really into how tough it is to parkour around spikes. If Assist Mode disabled trophies, I would have never played this game as I can't do the levels legit. I'm not as great as some people.
  4. Daxter (PS5)
  5. Daxter (PS4) - both A tier. Why did I not play this game on the PSP? Oh, because I didn't have the ability to undo mistakes. I don't think I could have gotten the Gandalf Dream to gold rank without the rewind feature. It's gonna be tough doing RetroAchievements on Hardcore Mode where save states and rewind are disabled. Still, these games brought me back to Jak & Daxter.
  6. Spyro the Dragon - B tier. Other than the horrors of Tree Tops, this game is pretty decent.
  7. Spyro 2: Ripto's Rage! - C tier. Sadly, nostalgia wasn't there for me as some of the trophies are pure cruelity. I was lucky to get both the Conservationalist 2 trophy without Superflame and I was lucky to get the 15 crystal popcorn before Hunter could get 10 because those popcorn catching challenges can be really really bad. Still, I wasn't fond of getting 100% here.
  8. Spyro 3: Year of the Dragon - A tier. High ranked because you don't have to get 100%. Still not S tier because even though I can avoid the skateboard challenges, THEY EXIST. X(
  9. The Sims 4 - D tier. Sorry, if I can't use motive cheats, I am not going to play you. Since I had to download families to cheese this platinum, it's bottom of the barrel. Also, the game was as laggy A.F. so it lost a ton of respect. :(
  10. Disgaea 5 - S tier. I really enjoy the Disgaea games, and this one is the easiest to platinum. Not saying it's super easy, but I did have a guide.

Platinums 6-10

I keep forgetting to update. Anyways, these five games were all prepped to plat on the beginning of an forum challenge for charity, so here you go.

#6: Spyro the Dragon
#7 Spyro 2: Ripto's Rage
#8 Spyro 3: Year of the Dragon

I platinumed the entire Spyro Reignited Trilogy yet again. I really enjoyed these games when they came out on the original Playstation, polygons and all. I'm just glad that you don't have to 100% Spyro 3 as I really hate the skateboarding challenges. :(

#9: The Sims 4

I really used to enjoy playing The Sims 4 on PC, even had an EA account. Sadly, my computer is too small in memory and my bank account is too hostile to install every expansion pack that has come out since Get to Work, so I had to drop it. (I was also just cheating up needs to keep the Sims working forever, making the challenges too trivial.)

I wouldn't have touched this again if I didn't find out how to import custom families because the guide on PSNP just tells you how to do it naturally and if you played a Sims game, you know how even on turbo speed the game gets really tedious waiting for babies to be born. <_<

#10: Disgaea 5: Alliance of Vengeance

This is the easiest Disgaea to platinum as Green Z-Saber shows off how you can get to the post-game in under four hours using the Overload mechanic. Even so, unlocking the Carnage Dimension and getting to the final boss of the Carnage Dimension to get the trophy for defeating him requires a lot of grind to get your characters strong enough to survive the challenge stages. Even so, it's easier than what I will have to do later, aka Disgaea 4 Complete+. :(

Platinums 2-5

I forgot to update this, so here are my next four platinums:

Platinum #2: Buff Knight Advanced

A game you can turn most of your brain off on. This is a runner-type game where you move left to right while enemies stand in your way. Enemies only hurt  you by touching you, so if you can kill them first, you are pretty safe. I did a few rounds as the Knight to get the three combo master trophies, then used the Sorceress for the rest of the trophies as her fireballs hit enemies off-screen.

It took me 4 days and 15 hours to get this platinum as I took a lot of breaks. This title requires a LOT of grinding to get some of the trophies. Getting 200 artifacts to get all artifacts to Level 10 and ten billion coins is pretty tedious as you have to replay a lot of levels. That's why I took breaks.

But the music and graphics are neat eight-bit renditions.

Platinum #3: Celeste

Yes, I admit it. I kept using the assist mode and a guide to help me get all the collectibles. There is no way in The Pits of Lunar Heck that I was going to do this legit as I hate spike rooms. :(

I did have to do the 8-bit classic Celeste, PICO-8, raw, but the rooms there are much smaller and easier to deal with. All in all, a nice game, though I am glad that Chapter 9: Farewell wasn't a DLC pack. No hate against DLCs but I would have felt dirty having to get trophies for that chapter as well.

Platinums #4 & #5: Daxter

I did the PS5 and PS4 versions of this new emulated PSP port of the Ottsel's Adventures in bug-killing in that order. Cutscenes were hot trash but then, so were the cutscenes in the Vita version of LEGO Batman 2, as they were ripped from the PS3 version. No, this is not foreshadowing... <_<

The gameplay sections were remade and really great. Even the dream sequences(and I recognized the dojo master in the second Matrix dream sequence - it's the Yakow herder in the original J&D, floppy hat and all! Lolz!) and I managed to gold medal both the Agent Gol fight in the PS5 version and the Bugbox Balrog fight in the PS4 version. (Protip: NEVER gold rank the dojo or Balrog fights, the fact that you have to button press in between sequences 20 times is MURDER. If it wasn't for rewind and save states, this would have been a pass for me.)

My future plans

So I do plan to add in some Platinums I earned, but first...

I am going to be doing a few PSNP challenges. I already am submitting my list for the Decktors Without Borders event by Breakingthegreen, and I will register for viech098's Fall Backlog 2024 event when August rolls around. I am also going to do the Bingo Bonanza 2024 event.

Here's my bingo card. Surprisingly it didn't screw me over this time! I think, with proper planning and discipline against procrastination, I can get it done in six months. ^_^

Platinum 1: A Short Hike

Platinum Trophy #1: A Short Hike

This game is like having sex for the first time - it's short and sweet. Okay, I apologize. That came from a book I read a long time ago which ended up with a lurid sex scene, so let's clean it up a bit.

This game is probably the shortest game I have played that wasn't shovelware or a visual novel. (I've played those on my old accounts.) The game's premise is simple - just climb to the top of the island and then fly down and go back into your home cabin. Those are the only two story-related trophies. Everything else is optional stuff.

Now, there are frustrating things. For example, you have to hit a ball over a net 15 times to get 30 points for a free hat. If you have ever played volleyball, you know how frustrating that can be. Then you have to do a boat race in under 45 seconds. And you have to do three parkour races, one up to the summit of the mountain. But all in all, this game doesn't laugh in your face if you fail, it lets you try again.

You have to get at least 7 golden feathers to the reach the top of the mountain as your feathers are your stamina meter and they freeze up and become useless in the mountainous area where it's icy cold. But you can find hot springs and campfires to thaw yourself and you can water flowers to sprout that act as trampolines.

This game is cozy and lets you do things at your own pace. I did eventually go to a video guide but I did enjoy going in blind. A quaint title.

Time Played: About 3-4 hours

The Beginning of a New Platinum Trophy Blog

Welcome to my glorified mess! My username is Kitty_Fairy, and this is my Playstation trophy achievement blog. I hope you enjoy your stay. ^_^

I created this account after a ton of other accounts went the way of the dinosaurs after mistake after mistake was made. My plans for this blog are to record the many accomplishments as I try to get my trophy percentage high. This account is meant to be as pure as possible by avoiding shovelware, really easy games and visual novels - which I feel got a bad rap due to their options letting you skip the story, which is really anti-climatic for a genre that is about reading the story. If I just fast-forwarded an anime episode, I would not enjoy it at all. But that's neither here nor there.

The Guidelines:

  • None of the games on the list have a rarity higher than 75%, with notable exceptions. The games here are earned with a decent effort and investment of time and skill. Failure is a learning experience!
  • On the other hand, frustration and heart disease is not. None of the games here have trophy lists that would drive me to drink. You won't find any Souls-like games here, which is also because my taste in aesthetics is more akin to something my nieces(who are both under the age of six at the time of this post) would appreciate. Not too grindy or hard, not too easy, just right! ;)
  • My goal is to try to complete the platinum for every game I add, and I mean platinum. You will never find a game that doesn't have a platinum though I think some of those titles are nice.
  • My other jams are Final Fantasy XIV(which I play on an old account - I do not intend to go for any more attempts at the platinums for this MMO ever again but I do love the story, setting and community, shout outs to my Free Company Narshe!) and randomizers, which are retro game mods that shuffle the key items around so you basically go on a scavenger hunt to reach the end of the game. I've started experimenting with Archipelago, a multi-world server that lets you play multiple randomizers and shuffle their items into each other games. One day I will complete a seed!
  • I am a 50+ young virgin who has never had his first kiss. Whether any women reading this blog think that's endearing or are grossed out(trust me, my selfies are nightmarish lolz), judge silently. This blog is not a desperate plea for female companionship, but a nice blog of my gaming accomplishments.
  • Finally, if you do comment or post here, do not use profanities or spread hateful comments or I will have you blocked. You do you, I do me, let's leave it at that. Thanks in advance.

Again, I hope you enjoy the visit. I will try to keep updated as I platinum games.

Tier List: Platinums 1-10

Since people are ranking their platinums after every ten, I decided to do the same with a tier list. A Short Hike - B tier. Not a bad game ...
